What happens to Erasmus accreditations after 2027?
All current Erasmus accreditations are valid until 31 December 2027, the end of the 2021–2027 programme. The Commission has not yet said how they continue. The Dutch National Agency expects a re-accreditation round in the 2027 call, with a deadline around late September 2027; the German school NA says the procedure has not yet been announced. Funds from the February 2027 KA121 round can be used until 31 May 2029.
What we know
- Accreditations run until 31 December 2027. National Agencies may prolong them under conditions set by the Commission.
- Projects already awarded can continue after 2027.
- The last KA121 round of the programme is in February 2027, for mobilities from 1 June 2027 to 31 May 2029 (Nuffic; PAD gives the same end date).
- The Commission proposal for 2028–2034 (COM(2025) 549) does not, in the text available, set out how accreditations carry over.
What National Agencies expect
| National Agency | Expectation (2026) |
|---|---|
| Nuffic (Netherlands) | A re-accreditation round in the 2027 call, deadline around late September 2027, results in early 2028, somewhat lighter than a new application. No guarantee. |
| PAD (Germany, school) | How accreditation continues after 2028 has not yet been announced. |
What to do now
- Apply for the full KA121 budget you can use in February 2027. It runs until May 2029.
- Keep your progress and EQS evidence in order. Any re-accreditation will build on it.
- Update your Erasmus Plan if your needs have changed.
- Watch the 2027 call and your National Agency’s news.
