Erasmus+ 2027 call: what we know before it opens

By the Akadimos Erasmus+ teamUpdated 16 October 20267 min read
The short answer

As of 16 October 2026, the 2027 call has not been published. It is expected in mid-November 2026 and is the last call of the 2021–2027 programme. If it follows the 2026 pattern, KA1 deadlines will fall in February 2027 and KA2 in early March. Universities already expect tighter limits on the number of applications. We will update this guide within 24 hours of publication.

Where things stand

The Programme Guide online is still the 2026 edition (version 1, 12 November 2025). The Commission has not yet adopted the 2027 Annual Work Programme, so the budget and priorities for 2027 are not known.

Universities expect the call in mid-November 2026. TU Dresden told its staff on 13 October that the last call of the programme generation follows in November, and set an internal pre-selection to cope with the short timeline.

Nothing in this section is official until the call is published. Treat the expected dates as planning dates, not deadlines.

Reference: the 2026 calendar

The 2027 call is likely to follow a similar rhythm. These were the 2026 deadlines (12:00 Brussels time):

Action2026 deadline
KA1 school, VET, adult education, higher education19 February 2026
KA1 youth and sport12 February 2026
KA2 Cooperation and Small-scale Partnerships5 March 2026
European Partnerships for School Development (new pilot)9 April 2026
Erasmus accreditation (KA120)29 September 2026
KA1 round 2 (only where the National Agency opens it)1 October 2026

In Greece, IKY opened round 2 only for KA1 adult education in 2026. Other National Agencies made different choices, so always check your own NA.

What may change in 2027

  • Tighter limits on applications. For Capacity Building in Higher Education, universities expect a cap of 2 applications per organisation in total, as coordinator or partner. This is not confirmed.
  • Limits already in place. In NA-managed partnerships, an organisation may apply only once per deadline, and one OID may appear in at most five applications per deadline (2026 rules).
  • The United Kingdom returns. The UK announced in December 2025 that it will rejoin Erasmus+ in 2027. UK organisations are expected to take part in the 2027 call. Check the call text for the exact conditions.
  • The end of the programme period. Accreditations from the 2026 call are valid from 1 February 2027 until 31 December 2027, the end of the current programme. The rules for the next programme are still being negotiated.

What to prepare now

  1. Check your organisation’s data and legal representative in the Organisation Registration System.
  2. Write your needs analysis now. It is the part that takes longest and changes least.
  3. Choose your activities and, for KA1, shortlist providers with fixed dates and clear programmes.
  4. Confirm partners early if you plan a KA2 project. The once-per-deadline rule makes late changes hard.
  5. Bookmark your National Agency’s calls page and check it the week the call opens.

Questions coordinators ask us

Will the 2027 Programme Guide change the funding rates?

We do not know yet. Rates usually change little between years, but check the new guide before you finalise your budget.

Can we still apply for accreditation?

The 2026 accreditation round closed on 29 September 2026. Whether there will be another accreditation round under the current programme will only be known when the call is published.
