Measuring the impact of KA1: indicators that convince your National Agency
Measure impact as a chain: activities lead to outputs, outputs to outcomes, outcomes to impact. Track it at four levels: the participant, the organisation, the community and the system. The Erasmus+ Impact Handbook, published by several National Agencies, gives a full method. Start with a few indicators you can actually collect, and plan them before the mobilities begin.
The results chain
| Step | Example |
|---|---|
| Activity | Three teachers attend a 5-day inclusion course |
| Output | Three lesson plans using UDL, one staff workshop |
| Outcome | Twelve colleagues use one new strategy within a term |
| Impact | Fewer pupils need individual exceptions; better results for pupils with SEN |
Ten indicators you can collect
- Participant report satisfaction and learning scores.
- Number of new methods used in class within three months.
- Colleagues reached through internal training.
- Learners affected by the new practice.
- Share of participants with fewer opportunities.
- Changes to school or centre policies.
- New partnerships or KA2 ideas.
- Learner feedback before and after.
- Dissemination reach (events, posts, EPALE or eTwinning).
- Progress against each Erasmus Plan objective.
Methods that work
- Short surveys before, right after and three months after.
- “Most Significant Change” stories from participants.
- Lesson observations by colleagues.
- A one-page impact summary each year for your board and your National Agency.
