Running an accredited mobility consortium: rules and good practice

By the Akadimos Erasmus+ teamUpdated 16 October 20267 min read
The short answer

A mobility consortium is led by one coordinator holding an Erasmus accreditation as consortium coordinator. Members do not need their own accreditation, but must be from the same country and eligible in the same field. There is no fixed maximum of members. Coordinators follow extra quality standards: fair sharing of tasks and funding, joint decisions and shared expertise.

The rules

The coordinator’s extra standards

  • Allocate tasks clearly.
  • Share funding fairly, in proportion to each member’s tasks and needs.
  • Take decisions jointly.
  • Involve members in choosing hosts and let them contact hosts directly.
  • Share expertise and resources.

Good practice from the field

  1. A written consortium agreement with roles, timelines and how places are allocated.
  2. An annual call to members with simple, published selection criteria.
  3. One shared calendar of mobility windows, aligned with fixed-date courses.
  4. A shared dissemination plan, so results reach all members.

Questions coordinators ask us

Do consortium members need an OID?

Organisations entered in an application need an OID, so in practice members should register in the Organisation Registration System.

Places for a whole consortium
